Created: October 30, 2026 · Draft for SCGC Board Review
This draft has not been adopted by the board. It describes the website’s present scope and proposed privacy practices. The items listed under “Before Adoption” still require verification and approval.
This draft is prepared for the Senior Citizens Guiding Committee (SCGC), the independent nonprofit associated with the Port Angeles Senior & Community Center. It applies to PASeniorCenter.org and information sent to its website contact addresses. It does not govern the City of Port Angeles website or separate City, membership, meal, or program records.
If you email us, we receive your email address, the information in your message, and any attachments. Please provide only what is needed to answer your question. We use correspondence to respond, handle requests, and maintain necessary administrative records.
Please do not email medical information, Social Security numbers, payment-card details, passwords, or other sensitive information. Ordinary email is not a secure channel for those details.
This website currently provides information and contact links. It does not offer public member accounts, online payments, a newsletter subscription form, or a membership database. A contact form or other new service will require an updated notice explaining its fields, providers, and retention before it is enabled.
When you visit, hosting and security systems may process your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error or security logs to deliver and protect the website and diagnose problems. The site runs on WordPress and is hosted by Bluehost.
WordPress uses cookies for administrator sign-in and related preferences. Visiting the public pages does not require a member account. Your browser lets you delete or block cookies; blocking necessary cookies may affect sign-in or other functions.
The website currently requests font styles from Google Fonts. Loading these resources sends connection information, including your IP address, to Google. Analytics and marketing plugins supplied with hosting are under review; the final provider and cookie inventory must be verified before this draft is adopted. This draft does not represent a completed cookie audit.
Our proposed policy is to collect only information needed to operate the website, respond to inquiries, prevent abuse, and meet applicable obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information or use an inquiry as permission to add someone to a marketing list.
Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, email, website operation, and security. Authorized staff or volunteers should access it only as needed for their work. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect people, or defend legal rights. Provider details and any processing outside the United States must be confirmed before adoption.
The proposed retention rule is to keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected and any applicable administrative, legal, or security requirements. The board must approve practical schedules for correspondence, logs, and backups; those periods have not yet been finalized. Backup copies may remain until their normal rotation expires.
We use HTTPS for the website. Our proposed safeguards include limited administrative access, protected accounts, maintained software, and recoverable backups. No website or email system can guarantee complete security. Suspected incidents should be investigated and handled in accordance with applicable notification requirements.
You may contact us to ask about personal information you provided or request access, correction, or deletion. We may need reasonable verification of your identity and may retain information when required for legal or security purposes. Requests will be considered under applicable law; this statement does not promise that every request can be fulfilled.
The website is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted such information, please contact us so it can be reviewed and addressed.
Links to City information and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. If embedded videos, maps, payment links, or subscription services are added later, their privacy effects must be reviewed and disclosed before use.
Updates will be posted on this page with a revision date. Board adoption, when approved, will be identified separately from this draft’s creation date. Material changes to collection or use should be explained before new features begin collecting information.

Confirm the responsible organization and privacy contact; complete the hosting, email, font, plugin, analytics, and cookie inventory; remove unnecessary collection; approve retention and access procedures; verify provider terms and incident responsibilities; and record board approval and the policy’s effective date. This is a working draft for review, not a certification of legal compliance.
